Garnet

Garnets are found throughout the world, mostly in matrixes of metamorphic rock. The name garnet comes from the Latin word for pomegranate. January's birthstone is our most popular gem, perhaps because it is associated with love and looks so good against the skin. Though they come in a variety of colors, we choose deep red garnets that are mined in Africa and cut in India.
