When you call us up, mostly likely it will be Marek who answers the phone. He has been working with us since May of 2004 and has a deep knowledge of all our jewelry. He deals with customer sales & service, website development, data base management, and maintains our fair trade jewelry blog, FairJewelry.Org. He has an excellent sense of humor and a very quick wit. Marek holds a wide variety of interests, many stemming from his Scottish, Irish and Welsh roots. A student of history, his journey has taken him along the pathway of ancient Celtic lore and mystic practice and that has spurred an interest in Celtic Reconstructionism. His other interests include: Celtic Music, Ancient Weaponry, History, Archaeology, Speleology, Handicrafts and other Artforms. When asked about his job, Marek said, "My challenge is to assist the customer in their choice of item, doing my best to ensure they get it promptly and in excellent condition. These are heirloom quality pieces and I envision them outlasting their initial owners and graduating into something their entire future lineage can enjoy." "I find that in today's fast paced, throw-away world, we often lose sight of the richness of culture and way of being in those who came before us. Many of our customers are surprised that we actually make, by hand, the vast majority of our pieces, rather than farming them out to be mass produced." |
