The Renee Watch combines two 4mm strands of handwoven, sterling silver Etruscan chain and 14k gold knot work, overlaid upon antiqued sterling silver. In the center, a sterling silver watch. This functional jewelry is refined and delightful. Designed by Helen and handmade in her Santa Fe, NM studio. The timepiece has a stainless steel back, and Japanese, quartz crystal movement that has a three year warranty.

Meaning of Knot

Renee:

This knot is about intense focus through creativity, as shown by the triangular pattern. Triangles work to focus energy in a specific direction. Yet this triangular focus is integrated into personal structures, symbolized by the rectangle. Rectangles are used in building and creating structure. Another way of considering this is that it is a knot that represents going from one project or idea to the next – each distinct yet woven into a holistic, cohesive pattern.

From an early age, traveling the world, I saw how art, craft and creativity brought beauty into everyday life. Jewelry, as adornment, has been an expression of art and culture, that can range from the legendary to the personal and intimate, marking occasions and holding memories.

Remembering the ancient Celtic stories and legends I grew up with in the UK brought me back to my tribal ancestry. Celtic design comes out of reverence for the earth and generations of tribal tradition. From this place, I have tried to bring contemporary style to motifs that are ancient and meaningful. I view my business as a community that must benefit human communities without harming ecosystems which is why I am pleased we work with 100% recycled metals and, when ever possible, ethically sourced gemstones.
