The Luna Square Slider is a versatile slider that can be worn when a formal presentation is required, or just casually. It features delicate 14K gold knot work, overlaid upon oxidized sterling silver. Below, a pyramidal gemstone, selected by the designer, Helen Chantler, and set in an 14K gold handmade bezel. The slider is presented here on a 2.5mm handwoven, sterling silver Etruscan chain. Handmade in Helen's Santa Fe, NM studio.

Meaning of Knot

Shannon Knot:

This knot, with its crisscrossing form, is oval in shape. The knot within the oval is harmonious. Ovals are about community and also creativity. If you consider the different strands as energy, then you see how in this knot, movement is endless throughout the pattern, always the same from any angle.

From an early age, traveling the world, I saw how art, craft and creativity brought beauty into everyday life. Jewelry, as adornment, has been an expression of art and culture, that can range from the legendary to the personal and intimate, marking occasions and holding memories.

Remembering the ancient Celtic stories and legends I grew up with in the UK brought me back to my tribal ancestry. Celtic design comes out of reverence for the earth and generations of tribal tradition. From this place, I have tried to bring contemporary style to motifs that are ancient and meaningful. I view my business as a community that must benefit human communities without harming ecosystems which is why I am pleased we work with 100% recycled metals and, when ever possible, ethically sourced gemstones.
