Iolite

iolite

The name ‘iolite’ has Greek roots. It means ‘violet stone.’ It has, over the last two years, become one of the most popular gems we use. Composed of magnesium and aluminum silicate, it is found mostly in Sri Lanka and is cut in India. We select iolite that resembles tanzanite, ranging from deep to light blue.
